A Study on the Factors Affecting Quality of Life on the Epilepsy-Disabled

Abstract
This study is to figure out which factors having influence on lives of the epilepsy-disabled. Thus, a hierarchical regression analysis was conducted using data obtained from 161 who were willing to be engaged in this research among 342 who were officially registered in Daegu Metropolitan City as the epilepsy-disabled. As a result of the final regression analysis. disableness and drug use among health- and disableness-related factors as well as stigma, self-respect, and social support among socio-psychological factors turned out to significantly have effects on lives of the epilepsy-disabled. That is, the less severely-disabled, the less frequently-drug used, the fewer stigma-experienced. the higher self-respectful and the more social support they receive, results found that the epilepsy-disabled were more likely to enjoy a higher-quality of lives. Ultimately, various future research should be conducted subsequently in order to inquire into what factors affecting the quality of lives of the epilepsy-disabled. Futhermore, future research should also investigate what kind of causal relationships among these influential factors exist.
